Tumonob ko oi?
Humisau i songinpasi,
Tumonob i nongopuda'an!
I'ima diOtu,
Notungkohingan do Tonob!
Siou no oi,
Kada kozo poniou,
Kakama mai do tihob!
Of late, there had been a number of unexpected events which had brought chances and challenges. One such issue that surfaced was the orientation of the 'sigah' (the Kadazan headgear) which was erected at a roundabout at Donggongon along the new road to the KKIA, which is towards the west, and to Tambunan on the eastern side, Kudat from the North and Beaufort towards the south. This particular monument in the form of a 'siga', put up by the Penampang District Council, was oriented to face the east but some vocal leaders, especially those who are members of KSS, wrote to the local newspaper arguing that it should be facing the west, as a sign of welcoming tourists and so on.
This poem was composed by the author in response to that controversy but if one takes time to read and digest it, the real meaning speaks of aspiration and vision of the Kadazan leaders like Tun Fuad, Datuk Peter Mojuntin, Datuk James Ongkili, Datuk Darius Binion and many more, for the "People of God" This is what the late Datuk Peter Mojuntin wrote about the meaning of Kadazan as the "good-Spirit People", a people that filled with the Spirit of God.
